Since 1966, the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) has committed itself to the advancement of care for patients afflicted with spinal deformities. At the time of its inception, the Scoliosis Research Society consisted of a mere 35 members. Today, its roster includes the likes of some of the world’s leading scoliosis specialists. Its mission? To promote funding, research, and ally qualified healthcare professionals together for the advancement of the awareness, treatment, and understanding of spinal deformities, most notably, juvenile, adolescent, and adult scoliosis.
Membership Criteria
Members of the Scoliosis Research Society pass a vigorous 5-year candidacy period and exhibit a passion for the continued improvement of spinal deformity understanding and treatment. Active fellows have made a significant contribution to the field and cater to a caseload of patients of which 20% have a spinal deformity. University Spine Associates and Dr. Blecher are proud to announce its candidate membership in this prestigious society that, for the past half a century, has made great advances in the field of scoliosis treatment, surgery, research, and care.
