Motion Preservation Technologies

Many motion preservation technologies have evolved over the past several years. From artificial lumbar and cervical disc replacement to the X-Stop and Dynesis systems. Studies are still underway to determine the efficacy, safety and longer term outcomes of these emerging techniques. Dr. Blecher has had extensive experience with the Lumbar artificial disc replacement and has been a clinical instructor with the Charite artificial disc replacement courses. Dr. Blecher is also certified in the cervical disc replacement as well. At University Spine Associates, patients will learn the pros and cons of motion preservation technology. Patient selection is key to a successful outcome and, as such, cautious use of these emerging techniques is critical for the success and safety of the procedure.
